Information for journalists
What we display, where it comes from and how to update or remove it.
Why a profile may appear
Pitchlist helps people find journalists who recently covered a subject. We use limited professional information from bylines that outlets publish on their own sites: your name, outlet, topics, recent article titles and links, country and language. We do not display a photo, biography or email address at this stage.
Source and retention
Each profile states its source. Byline profiles come from the outlet named on the profile. The directory includes a development sample from Apollo.io, removed before launch. Articles are kept for up to 12 months, and a journalist without an article during that period is removed.
Legal basis and your rights
Our intended legal basis is legitimate interest in providing a focused professional media directory. You can object, ask to see the information connected to you, or request a correction or removal. A request does not hide a profile until identity is verified, which prevents third parties from removing someone else's profile.
Request an update or removal
Open your profile from the listing and choose “Is this you? Update or remove this profile”, or use our contact form with the reason “I want to be delisted”. We reply within one month. We check that the request comes from you, normally through an address at your outlet, then remove the profile. A validated removal creates a permanent exclusion for the linked professional identities, so our crawler does not list you again.
